Tucker's Buddy on Facebook

 OUR MISSIONS

Acts 1:8 tells us that we are to be witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest parts of the earth. God has called each of us to be His witnesses in our community as well as the remote places of the world. Missionaries are not just the people that have given up all that they have to go out and serve the Lord, we have all been called to be missionaries for the Lord right where we are.

Tuckers Buddy

Tucker is the most loving and happy little boy that you will ever meet. He wakes up every morning with a laugh that is contagious. He likes the simple things in life, such as pudding, cheesecake jello, and LeapFrog toys. When Tucker is at home, you will never catch him without wearing his house shoes or dragging his blanket throughout the house. He loves playing outside, going to school, and snuggling with his family.

Tucker was nine months old when he experienced his first noticeable seizure. For the next 3 years, he had visible seizures about once a month, and they would last anywhere from 30 minutes up to 2 hours. Each one of them would put him in the hospital, and each one was life threatening.

For the past 5 years, Tucker has averaged about three major seizures a year. Each one can still last up to two hours, and they are still considered life threatening. One of them caused him to be hospitalized in ICU for a week because of it's length and severity.

Help us give Tucker his service dog so that Tucker can regain some of his freedom. His new buddy will help increase his mobility, improve his social skills, and help to detect seizures and other problems that his condition may cause. Tucker is a fun loving child, and like any nine-year-old he deserves the most productive fun, and free life his family and friends can give him. Please join us in giving this freedom to Tucker and his family.

Be Warmed

An undeniable reality exists in our community and in this world that there are people who do not have a place to call home. They have many needs, but one of the most basic is warmth in the winter. Be Warmed is a ministry that does its best to fulfill that need by giving new socks, blankets, warm clothes, and other needed items out to them. We desire to warm their physical bodies, but also that God's love through us would warm their spiritual bodies. James 2:15-16 says, "If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, 'Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,' but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit?"If we say we have the greatest love that ever existed living in us and don't have compassion on society's outcasts, what kind of a love is that?

Salvation Is Free and so is the Gift Wrapping

Each year we set up outside of Walmart in Soddy Daisy offering free gift wrapping, hot chocolate, coffee, and candy canes. It is always a great time of fellowship and a great blessing to bless others by offering totally free, no strings attached gift wrapping. Many times we have been given the opportunity to share the simple Gospel. As people ask how much it costs, or what we are taking donations for we are able to tell them that it's free, just like the totally free, no strings attached gift of Salvation that Jesus offers to everyone who accepts it. We invite you to join us or just bring by some gifts and let us wrap them for you.

Hamilton County Chaplain Corps
Ministering to the Needs of the Law Enforcement Community
Tim Millsaps
Senior Pastor Grace Calvary Chapel
Senior Chaplain Hamilton County Sheriff's Office

We at Grace Calvary Chapel support our pastor as he reaches out to the first responders of Hamilton County as the Senior Chaplain for the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office. The Hamilton County Sheriff's Department has enlisted the support of nine area ministers to serve the emotional and spiritual needs of the men and women under his command. Although it is not the goal or mission of the Chaplain Corps to evangelize; Pastor Tim has had many opportunities at the request of individual officers to share with them the love and hope of Jesus Christ that has so radically changed his own life.
